Rural communities often face challenges such as long travel distances, high medical costs, and a lack of specialized healthcare professionals. This can lead to late-stage cancer diagnoses and worse outcomes for patients who may otherwise have had a better chance of survival.

Many patients in Rwanda live far from specialized healthcare facilities, making frequent hospital visits costly and difficult. The Ingobyi Patient Transport Support program ensures that no patient is forced to abandon treatment due to transportation challenges.
At Rwanda Cancer Relief (RCR), we understand that access to treatment is often hindered by distance and financial constraints. The Icyizere / Hope Lodge was created to provide a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for cancer patients and their caregivers undergoing treatment far from home.
