Board Members

Dr. Fidel Rubagumya

Founder & Board Chair

Dr. Rubagumya is a consultant clinical and radiation oncologist at Rwanda Military Hospital and a senior lecturer at the University of Rwanda. He completed his medical school at the University of Rwanda and clinical oncology residency at Ocean Road Cancer Institute in Tanzania. Dr. Rubagumya completed a medical oncology clinical and research fellowship at Queen’s University and a Master of Public Health.  Dr. Rubagumya’s research interests are in health services research exploring the intersection of access and quality of care, health policy and financial toxicity in cancer care in low- and middle-income countries. His clinical interests are in head and neck and breast, gynecological, and gastrointestinal cancers. Dr. Rubagumya is a recipient of awards from many international organizations including the Long-term International Fellowship (LIFe) and Career Development Award from ASCO. He has published his scholarly work in leading journals including Lancet Oncology, BMJ Global Health, Journal of Clinical Oncology, and Nature among others.

Dr. Achille Manirakiza

Co-Founder & Board Vice-Chair

Dr Achille Manirakiza is co-founder and current RCR board vice chair. He is Clinical Oncologist at the King Faisal Hospital in Kigali. He completed his residency in Clinical Oncology at the Ocean Road Cancer Institute in 2018.

Dr. Diane Andrea Ndoli

Co-Founder & Board Secretary

Dr. Diane Andrea Ndoli is a co-founder and currently a board member of Rwanda Cancer Relief ,she is a clinical oncologist by training with interest in cancer advocacy and research ,more in Psycho-oncology , cervical and breast cancer. She is a member of different cancer associations , and a technical fellowship awardee of the Union for International Cancer Control(UICC). Recently she received the Leadership program for women in oncology(LPWO) award. Dr Ndoli has embarked on health promotion and empowerment in different public health sectors across communities in Rwanda.. Dr Ndoli has a strong focus in promoting cancer care in Africa.

Niyibizi Asuman Brandon
Exceutive Director, Board Member
Niyibizi Asuman Brandon is a motivated and dynamic young leader with a keen interest for health access and equity. Brandon holds a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the university of Rwanda.
Dr. Muhizi Eulade
Research and Education
Dr. Eulade Muhizi is a bachelor holder in general medicine and surgery from the University of Rwanda. His main interests include the application of data analytics, artificial intelligence and finance in healthcare.

Hardness Range is the Communications Lead at the Rwanda Cancer Relief. She majors in International Business with a core mission in sustainable systems and a passion for making a difference in development sectors in the African continent.
Ralaiarinosy Marie Daniella
Fundraising Lead
Ralaiarinosy Marie Daniella is the Communication Associate at the Rwanda Cancer Relief. She is pursuing an Entrepreneurship Degree at ALU Rwanda. Owning a Master 1 Degree in Social Sciences Applied to Development, passionate about Social Impact.
Richard Mbazumutima
Cancer Education Content Creator
Richard Mbazumutima is a clinical medicine student at University of Rwanda, college of medicine and health sciences. He is a young motivated health and medical research enthusiast, willing and eager to learn more from professionals and open to medical training and mentorship programs. Through development of capacity building he is currently project plan and implementation Intern at Medical Doctors For Choice ( MDFC) Rwanda, and works in content creation at Rwanda Cancer Relief (RCR).
Dr. Eulade Rugengamanzi
Research Associate
Dr. Eulade Rugengamanzi is a medical doctor who specializes in caring for patients with cancers. Eulade's research focuses on improving outcomes for people with cancer in Rwanda, with a particular focus on the growing Breast Cancer and Colorectal cancer burden in sub-Saharan Africa. He is working on outcome of Triple Negative breast cancer patients in Tanzania and Rwanda. He is also interested in clinical translational researches, Genetics in oncology, Statistics and AI. Eulade earned his medical degree at the University of Rwanda. He is in final year residency in clinical oncology at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences(MUHAS). Eulade is a member of the Rwanda Cancer Relief, American Society of Clinical Oncology, African Organisation for Research and Training in Cancer and The American Public Health Association. In 2021, he received Technical Fellowship award from the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC).
Pipeloluwa Olorunsola
Communication Associate
Pipeloluwa Eniola Olorunsola is the Fundraising Intern at Rwanda Cancer Relief and a final-year student at African Leadership University. She is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Global Challenges. She is highly passionate about impacting her community with every asset and skill set she possesses. She believes in creating and impacting society for a more remarkable change.

Murorunkwere Lydie
Volunteer
Murorunkwere N. Lydie is a Rwandan, a mother and survival. She believes in a society where human potential is nurtured and allowed to thrive and flourish. Professionally, Lydie has more than 15 years successful experience in business management, providing strategic and operations leadership with a strong track record of performance in turnaround and high-paced corporate and non-profit organizations in Rwanda and Europe. She holds a Master in Business Administration from Lyon, France. In her current role as a founder and Managing Director of ML Corporate Services Ltd, she serves corporate and private clients. The company provides a wide range of structuring, company secretarial, corporate trustee, accounting, and fund administration services. In October 2018, she was diagnosed with invasive stage 3 breast cancer. She had surgery, six rounds of chemotherapy, and twenty-two sessions of radiotherapy. Lydie spent 6 months away from her family, for her entire treatment which ended on 21st April 2019. Since then, she is determined to not let her illness define her, and like many other survivors, she set her intentions on thriving, not just surviving. She uses her experience to help others in their journey towards cancer awareness and has been dedicated to assisting those in need. Because of her passion for service and development, Lydie has been a member of the Rotary International for the past ten years and looking forward to more years playing an active role in the organization’s programs and initiatives for social change.
Daniella Rungira

Daniella Rangira holds an Honors Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences from McMaster University and is currently completing her Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology at the University of Toronto. She aims to contribute to the advancement of health research and is interested in the analysis of epidemiological trends.
Benita Rangira
Volunteer
Benita holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences and French studies (with thesis) from the University of Windsor and a Master of Public Health from Wayne State University. She has experience in cancer research and completed a thesis on identifying molecular markers that can predict muscle Invasive bladder cancer. Benita worked at the Wayne State School of Medicine where she worked on two studies; the Family Asthma study and in the Community Engagement Core of the WSU ACHIEVE GREATER Center (Addressing Cardiometabolic Health Inequities by Early PreVEntion in the Great LakEs Region). She now works at the Center for Urban Studies (CLEAR-The Center for Leadership in Environmental Awareness and Research at Wayne State University and volunteers at Rwanda Cancer Relief.
Hadidja Uwimana

Hadidja UWIMANA, MD I currently work as medical doctor at NEMBA District hospital. I hold bachelor degree in general medicine and surgery from university of Rwanda, college of medicine and health sciences with interest in clinical oncology and in conducting clinical and epidemiologic research. I was trained by union for international cancer control (UICC) on advocacy for improved cancer control and on introduction to palliative care for health care workers prepared by ECHO project. I also attended community outreach prepared by Rwanda biomedical center (RBC) and partners in health (PIH) on early screening of breast cancer and cervical cancer. I volunteer in tumor board project of Rwanda cancer relief.
Didier Isingizwe

Didier ISINGIZWE, is a Medical student studying at the University of Global Health Equity (UGHE), Rwanda, Butaro. He has interest in Oncology, and he aspire to be a doctor, ardent advocate, and “accompagnateur” of cancer patients and their families. Didier enjoys watching football with friends and exploring new places & things. Didier is a volunteer at Rwanda cancer Relief in the research department. He is also a member of the Trainee Advisory Committee (TAC) at the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH).

Joshua Mwamba is a experienced software engineer and tech-entrepreneur running HiQ Africa, a tech startup based in Rwanda. Joshua is well known for his grit and innovative spirit which has led him to work with organizations across the globe.
